Szilárd Cseke's "Strange Coincidence" exhibition at Szentendre

2019.10.31.

The exhibition of Szilárd Cseke's unique installation entitled "Strange Coincidence" opened on 31.10.2019 at the MANK Gallery in Szentendre. The artist has been dealing with objects for nearly 20 years in which light and movement, human interaction also play an important role. The installation in Szentendre is a further reflection of the artist's 2017 work of art, which uses the entire gallery space in Bratislava as a field table. and it is transforming into a moving, kinetic sculpture now.

"In the mobile object bordered by transparent plastic walls, ping-pong balls migrate, circulating regularly under the control of fans. However, their path is accompanied by obstacles and deflections, and at some point there are loopholes, where some balls may fall out of the system, randomly among the spectators. The installation becomes interactive at this point, because the visitors can catch the balls and write messages on them before putting them back on the track which dreamed by the artist. The artwork in the MANK Gallery is a space in space, the object can be entered, viewed, but can also be walked around as a sculptural object, as an architectural model and as well as it has an inner movement, there is light in and around which is very characteristic of it."

The K-ARTS Art Foundation in Szentendre took a role as a sponsor in the implementation of the exhibition, participated in the work related to the exhibition: in transport, the provision of raw materials, just as during the exhibition in Bratislava 2 years ago.
