Karcos tükör (Scratched Mirror) – Photo-based artworks from the K-ARTS Arts Collection
From 6 to 25 April, 2022, an exhibition will be held at the FUGA Budapest Center of Architecture in the framework of the Budapest Photo Festival, with the title Karcos Tükör (Scratched Mirror), from the photographic and light arts works of our foundation’s collection.
Since 2004, the Kecskemét KÉSZ construction group has provided space for an artists' colony in the summer at its site. The resulting corporate collection is mainly known for its steel sculpture works, while it also represents a prestigious immersion from all other genres, including photographs. The exhibition presents two topics from the collection of photos from Péter Puklus to Róbert Benke Szabó: a rather aesthetic one and an openly social one. The introduction puts photographic artworks of, among other things, meditative (Csilla Babinszky), confrontational (Krisztina Erdei), humorous (Jama Antal Farkas), socially reflective (Miklós Gulyás) and identity seeker (Tibor Gyenis) themes.
