NATURE MADE FROM STEEL – Garden exhibition of Nóra Szirmai at the Bozsó Collection, Kecskemét

2019.05.5.

The sculptor Nóra Szirmai from Kecskemét works usually draws inspiration from the nature, mainly plant forms. It makes fragile shapes out of strong, raw material: the steel. This sensitive duality unites as a guideline the works exhibited in the garden of the Bozsó Collection.

Nóra used to work mainly with wood and bamboo. She had the first opportunity to try working with steel in previous year during the XVI. Steel Sculpture and Fine Arts Symposium of Kecskemét international creative camp at the KÉSZ Industrial Park. Her works are mostly plant drawings in the space, mainly leaf forms, their veins. Her sculptures can be considered as openwork spatial drawings made up of bent and stretched forms. As a surface treatment, she preferred to use tannic darkening, thus further strengthen the drawing effects of the sculptures.

Open to visitors until June 30, 2019 during the opening hours of the Bozsó Collection.
