Zsófia Barabás participated with her large steel sculpture Steel No 1. in a contemporary art selection, the exhibition of PAPAYA on July 26, 2019. She made the sculpture in the creative camp of XVI. Steel Sculpture and Fine Arts Symposium of Kecskemét just before the exhibition.
"The PAPAYA exhibition, organized by the TOBE Project, presents a wide range of artworks of international and local nonfigurative artists of contemporary art. The exhibition was opened by Judit Nemes, artist and art collector. The geometric shapes of papaya tree leaves and cold green hues of the fruit bark and the oval shape of the papaya and the warm, bright orange color of the flesh of the fruit return to the exhibited works. The exhibiting artists with their works of painting, photography, installation and shaped canvas techniques are present in the space, which create a dialogue by harmoniously contrasting with fresh, summery, complementary colors and different shapes. The works of different techniques perfectly represent the unique ways of creation and formulations of contemporary artists or the spirit of the age and the mode of expression which characterize of the art of this generation."
